TRAVEL DATES

October 10th - 18th, 2023

  • Program begins at noon in Buenos Aires

  • We will offer a flight for those who want to travel with the group but people can book their own flights

  • Currently there are 4 non stop flights from MIA to EZE

  • Airport transfer is included for those arriving in the designated flight

  • We will spend 7  nights in Buenos Aires and one night in Entre Rios

  • Hotel in Buenos Aires is the Sofitel

  • Fare includes transportation, hotel, entrance fees, tips and all meals except for 2 lunches and one dinner (tbd)

Day 1

A Taste of Recoleta

Recoleta is one of the most classic neighborhoods in Buenos Aires, known for Paris-style townhouses, lavish former palaces and posh boutiques.

  • Check in at Sofitel Hotel

  • Visit the monumental building of the Law School of University of Buenos Aires

  • Stop at some of the most prestigious art galleries in Buenos Aires

  • Back to the hotel for some rest

  • Tango Show

Day 2

Jewish Buenos Aires

On this day we will start our exploration of the most emblematic sites of the Jewish Community in Buenos Aires

  • We will visit the new AMIA building, built on the same site where the building that was bombed in 1994 stood. We will be welcomed by staff and volunteers of AMIA to learn more about the organization and we will meet a survivor of the bombing attack.

  • Libertad Synagogue – Jewish Museum of Buenos Aires

  • Lunch with an expert in Argentina’s economy to understand more about the country’s political and financial context

  • Honoring the victims of the Israeli embassy bombing at the memorial built in the site where the building stood.

  • Visit the Colon Theatre, one of the most renowned Opera houses in the world. Learn about its history and its present

  • Quick stop at Café Tortoni

  • Argentina Experience Dinner Learn about Argentine culture, taste fantastic local dishes, drink exceptional wine, and mingle with fellow travelers from around the world, in a fun setting.

Day 3

Southern Buenos Aires

La Boca, San Telmo and Barracas are the neighborhoods where the first European immigrants settled during the massive immigration in the 1800s. Spanish, Italian, Jewish, Irish lived together creating a very unique ‘porteño’ culture.

  • Tour La Boca, Caminito street and the Boca Juniors Stadium

  • Visit Sephardic synagogue Or Torah and recovered shuls Kneseth Israel and Zinkov

  • Lunch on your own at Puerto Madero

  • Afternoon in San Telmo, visiting the Zanjon de Granados

  • Dinner and wine tasting at Chalecito Diaz

Day 4

Northern Buenos Aires

We will visit the neighborhoods of Belgrano and Palermo, home of many Jewish synagogues and schools. Most of the Jews currently leave on that side of the city .

​

  • Visit the newly renovated Holocaust Museum guided by its executive director

  • Tour Amijai synagogue and the Seminario Rabinico Latinoamericano. Meet with influential rabbis from the conservative movement

  • Lunch and walk in Palermo Soho, home of  modern restaurants and fashion boutiques

  • Back to the hotel to prepare for Shabbat

  • Services at Libertad Street synagogue

  • Shabbat Dinner with Rabbi Guido’s rabbi and mentor

Shabbat

Day 5

Shabbat will be a day of rest and for free time.

  • Attend Shabbat services at Libertad St. Synagogue

  • Shabbat Lunch at the Jewish Museum

  • Free Time

  • Havdalah and dinner at a local restaurant

Day 6

Polo day or Farm Day Tikkun Olam

Sundays in Buenos Aires are days of leisure, rest, good food and sports.

  • Polo day or Farm day, TBD

  • Tikkun Olam program with the Tzedakah Foundation

  • Kosher Asado (barbecue) and wine

  • Early on your own

Day 7

The Jewish Gauchos Tour

Two day trip to Entre Rios

  • Depart early to Villa Dominguez (5 hours)

  • Visit the regional “Historic museum and archive”, the railway station and the local hospital founded by a Jewish doctor

  • Synagogue of Domingues

  • Transfer to Villa Clara, visit the old Hebrew School and synagogue. Meet with a local guide.

  • Night at Villaguay. Dinner at the local Jewish community

Day 8

Gauchos Judíos – 2nd day

  • Basavilvaso and Lucienvielle

  • Local synagogues and cemetery

  • Lunch with representatives of the Jewish Community of Basavilvaso

  • Back to Buenos Aires

  • Farewell dinner

Check Out

  • Free time for Shopping.

  • Transfer to airport or add-on programs

Cost:

$3,500 per person

Trip includes 13 meals, lodging, guides, tips, entrance fees  to museums, etc. Does not include flight.

Payment schedule:

20% Due by January 14th 

30% Due by June 9th

Balance due before August 9th

Single Occupancy additional $1,000

​

Cancellation Policy:

(Different from the insurance)  

Cancellation 90 days before the trip, penalty is $500 per passenger. Between days 89 and 60 before the trip they get 30% back. 60 Days before trip, there is no refunds. Minimum number of passengers 26.
